Installation Guide

You will need a chisel, hammer, screwdriver, pencil, tape measure, and spirit level.

Step one is to mark hinge positions. Measure and mark the positions for your hinges on the door frame. Standard placement is 150mm from the top and bottom of the door. The third hinge if used is centered between them.

Step two is to mark the door. Hold the hinge against the door edge and mark its outline. The hinge knuckle should project beyond the door face to achieve the desired clearance.

Step three is to chisel the recesses. Carefully chisel out the marked areas to the depth of the hinge leaf thickness. Test-fit the hinge to ensure it sits flush.

Step four is to attach hinges to door. Screw the hinges to the door using the provided matching wood screws. Ensure screws are driven straight and fully seated.

Step five is to hang the door. Position the door in the frame and mark the hinge positions on the frame. Chisel these recesses and screw the hinges to the frame.

Step six is to check operation. Test the door opening. It should swing freely and clear all obstructions. Adjust if necessary.

For glazed or solid doors, inset the hinge leaf an additional 15 percent each side. This reduces projection by approximately 30 percent but provides better support. When fitting to rebated doors, ensure the hinge projection is sufficient to clear the rebate when opening.
